Subject:Hi All
Mood: blank

Well it's been a while but I wanted to say Hi to all, life goes on here in the land of really weird weather. 30 has come and gone, to show for it show after show, this last season was really tiring and next season promises to be slightly easier. While I have said it before my time here is running out as I have lost some passion for the work. I had the biggest effects show to date last season which included nitro fog gunshot ricochets a witches cauldron in a martini shaker, as well as a very bright brand new projector that I modified with a custom built sensor package so that it could change zoom and focus to different projection surfaces throughout the show. I am going to try and get some interviews this year with Effects companies, including MI5 and TechniEFX and see what will come of it. That's the news for the year so far, getting ready to tech the kids musical which is my yearly musical design should be a pretty straight forward show this year since we aren't teching two back to back like last year.

Mood: pissed off

As if I needed to dislike Chicago any more. For the second time in 3 years so chump ass punk once again tried to mug me. All is OK though attackers get really freaked out when you talk to them with a level head they turn almost remorseful, yep I talked him out of taking my wallet. Mind you this mentality comes out of the first time when the guy just tried to knock me out and couldn't even faze me so no doubt i my mind that I have the advantage on an unarmed mugger. But by the end of it the dude shook my hand and walked away with the dollar in quarters I had in my pocket, after I showed him I had no cash in my wallet. None the less it's to cold here and I am tired of getting assaulted any body have a job for 29 year old jack of all trades, or want to back me in starting my special effects shop?

So I finally got to meet my new nephew and he and I got along great, I am usually really bad with kids but since he was related I guess I was comfortable around him. We had a great time, my icon is my showing him where I work.

What Power Do You Posses?

You are an Empath
You are an Empath
An empath is someone who has the power to feel and manipulate the emotions of others. Empaths often have mood-swings, or are sometimes classified as bi-polar, but it's simply the emotions of others around you.
You are often one that people turn to for guidance, for your uncanny ability to make people feel better, to reduce their anger or depression.
The bad side is that you tend to often feel other's emotions and confuse them as your own, and act upon them accordingly, confusing and possibly scaring or angering others.
How do you compare?

Well I haven't in a while so I figured I would give you all what little has happened in my life. Pretty much besides many attempts to kill me, I am still kicking. About a month ago a spinal column infection (of which I have had before) pretty much rendered my legs on mildly functional. I have been able to get ride of the infection since I recognized it as Yeast / Fungal based (as was the first time around) through watching what I eat and increasing the bacterial count in my body (the two are not fond of each other) the last few weeks have been a slow process of very inflamed nerves healing them selves, the feeling in my legs is finally starting to return to normal and the muscle strength has returned. Problem is timing could not be worse with winter upon us it will really make working out to regain all of the muscle strength back to normal difficult, but I will figure out a way.

Other then my physical woes, I have been a busy camper so far this year, I did some special effect design work for the first show of the season (can we say yeah for liquid nitrogen)I end up in Dallas for less then 8 hours at a special effects shop in Weatherford to look at and purchase a LN2 fogger. If the guy was hiring I would be there in a second but he only keeps 4 people on permanent staff. Shame to I really like the guy and his shop.

I sound designed Soundhiem Passion in our studio space which open to great reviews, I designed a production the we do with Chicago Public School kids (second year) which was a ton of work. More sound cues in the 1 hour long production then in one of our normal mainstages.

Other then that I am just trying to build up my Special Effects resume so I can use it as a jumping point to special effects for film, I figure it is long past time to start chasing that dream and if I want to accomplish it I must start now.

For those who know my mom is now doing very well, she is still in physical therapy to get her shoulder working fully. My Nephew, Sister and Brother in law will be coming up for thanksgiving in there annual visit to Chicago. My Nephew will be 6 months at the time and looks like a really happy camper from his pictures. It's still kinda weird for me to think of my parents as Grand Parents but hey Great Grandma is real happy.

I have also decided that it is time to do those things I love to do but haven't been able to since I moved here. So some time in December I will go skiing, then when it warms back up at least 1 trip to Utah to rock climb and a trip to Florida to surf (I am not a very good surfer since I haven't been able to do it very often, so I am afraid Cali waves would kill me besides I have a free place to stay in Florida).

Well I guess thats about it from my side of the world, hope every one is well.

Your home is a

Four-wheeling Gamer's Retreat

Your kitchen is stocked with chips, dips, and assorted caffeinated beverages. There's a pantry with emergency backup caffeinated beverages. You also have some breakfast cereals in there, but you haven't had breakfast since last Spring. Your master bedroom has blankets printed with images of Mario and Link. Your study includes unread copies of various gamer magazines, each purchased for the free demo CDs. One of your garages is home to your ATVs, hangglider, snowmobiles, and jetskis. It also containts a truck the size of a boat, which pulls a boat the size of a bus.

Your home also includes a robot repair bay, where your mechanized servants are routinely fitted with new restraining bolts. (It's just a precaution.) Your guests enjoy your collection of every console and associated game ever made. Except the Intellivision -- those controllers drive them NUTS. Outside is your radio telescope, listening constantly for alien transmissions. Especially invaders. They'll come eventually, even if nobody believes you. (Nobody does.)

Below is a snippet of the blueprints:

Subject:Dead Laptop

Well it's official Radeon Mobile X600's are toasters and well, will toast themselves over time. My A64 laptop is down for the count (I know I cried to). After long debate I have decided to revive it and send it in to get a new MB (god only knows how much that's going to cost) but there really aren't any other laptops on the market any where near the price range with the specs. So there you have it.
